  1. I saw your video today.

Good job. I am sending you $ for the St. Baldrick’s cause, as I always
do every year to several people.

When my 2nd eldest niece was around your age, she grew her hair
long and cut 10” of it to have it sent to Locks of Love?

If I may ask, are you planning on doing another virtual event in 2012?

If so, please let me know, so that I can pledge you $ then as well.

  2. Thank you so much!
I'm thinking about participating in St. Baldrick's again or at least Locks of Love (I shaved and then donated it, so I did both this time), and if I do I'll let you know!
Again, thank you so much. Your support means a lot to me. I don't know if you have this, but to access my page on St. Baldrick's you can go to http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/participantid/414426

    Thanks!

  3. Thanks.

Once my 2nd eldest niece donated 10” of her hair to Locks of Love years ago, she has not done since again.

I have wished to shave my head for a virtual St. Baldrick’s event; but, my family is against my shaving my head for any reason.

    Bye for now :-)

  4. Hi there again Jacqui.

    How are you?

Could you please do me a favor?

Whenever you receive confirmation of my $
contribution from St. Baldrick’s, could you
    please let me know?

    Thanks.

P.S. Of the 4 photographs of yourself here,
    I prefer photograph #2 :-)

  5. ... Had you heard about this/

46 Mommas shave their heads for St. Baldrick’s in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

All of these women lost a child to cancer; they have raised around $300,000 for the cause of childhood cancer:

  6. Oh wow! That's really sweet. I find people like those people so inspiring. About the donation: I haven't received confirmation yet, just so you know. I don't know if you already have donated or not. Thanks so much for your support!

  7. Jacqui:

I mailed your donation in 6 days ago.

So, it is probably too early for
it to be posted, as of yet.

    Thanks.

P.S. I like yur comment on your St. Baldrick's
    site, where regarding photograph number
2 here you wrote, "Just you wait -
this'll be the new fad in 20 years” :-)

  8. According to a St. Baldrick's e-mail,
    which I read just this morning;
my pledge and name have been put at your
    St. Baldrick's website.

I checked it for myself and their message
    to myself was correct.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

  9. Thank you so much! Yes, I just checked and saw your donation. Thank you so much! :)

  10. Hi there Jacqui. How are you? I have a
    question for you?

Have you decided whether you shall
once again shave your head for St.
    Baldrick's?

The reason I ask is that at their
website there are already many scheduled events, including some in Virginia.

I have been pledging $ to someone for years
who resides in California; she has already
signed up to shave her head again; for the
    10th year in a row!

If you do decide to shave you head again,
I shall plan to pledge you $ once again.

  11. I haven't decided yet.
What I'm doing for St. Baldrick's right now is selling duct tape wallets. People get a wallet and all the money excluding money for supplies goes to St. Baldrick's.
How many people shave multiple times? Do you think I'd be able to get second donations from a lot of people? If I could make such a big difference again, I think I will definitely think about it.

  12. From what I understand quite a few people, including women have shaved annually for St. Baldrick’s.

The woman whom I mentioned is doing it for the 10th year in a row, in 2012.

Her name is Kathi Evans and she has a video on youtube from 2009, having her head shaved on live TV, in California:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZdO5SFxi8I

I would think that if you did it a 2nd time you may well even get more $ in pledges.

One thing you could do is to e-mail St. Baldrick’s:

    info@stbaldricks.org

and ask them the question you asked me about the amount of people who have shaved their heads for multiple years for St. Baldrick’s.

You should identify yourself as a shavee from 2011, before posing the question.

Another thing to consider is how you saw your experience being bald. Was it a good one? When a person asked you why you shaved your head
and you told them the reason, did they compliment you for doing so? Or at least not
    laugh or tease you, etc.

I would think that your hair has probably
grown back 100% by now, so you shall have plenty of hair to shave, if you decide to do such in 2012 (and beyond?).

    Have an excellent day :-})

  13. Thank you! That's awesome. I was thinking I'd wait until I can donate to Locks of Love at the same time, too. Do you think that would be good?

  14. Hi. How are you?

The idea of the wallets is interesting.
If I may ask, how much $ do they cost?

Regarding “Locks of Love”, how long do you think it would take you to grow your hair
long enough to donate it to “Locks of Love”
(I.e., 10 inches minimum)? A year or more?

If so, perhaps you should decide to shave your
head in 2012 and then plan to grow it out for 2013, in order to donate your hair to Locks of Love.

The organization has a website, where you can get information as to how long your hair has to be before you can donate it:

    http://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html

St. Baldrick’s may well have information regarding such, as well.

On that note, I shall close this for now.

    Please take care :-})

    Have an excellent day.

    Until the next time Jacqui.

    Michael

  15. P.S. You do not have to shave your head
to donate hair to "Locks of Love".

My 2nd eldest niece donated 10+"
of hair, years ago and did not
    shave her head.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The wallets cost $8-$15, depending on designs. I've already raised about $140!

I would grow my hair 10 inches. Yes, I've done locks of love once before I shaved my head, and then when I did, I had enough to donate again. That's why I was thinking I might as well wait a bit and then let it grow in so that when I shave it, I can also donate it.

It would take maybe 18-20 months to grow all the way out again.

  17. P.S. I thought that you would find today’s
    Spiderman comic strip, somewhat amusing:

  18. You're welcome.

    A quick question:

What do your parents think aobut your plan
to donate 10+" of hair to "Locks of Love"
and then having your head shaved next
    year?

    Please take care :-{)

    Have an excellent day.

    Until the next time Jacqui.

  19. So, how are you doing? I hope all is "OK" there.

So how long is your hair now? Have you decided to grow it out in order to donate it to Locks of Love and
shave your head again for St. Baldrick's in 2013?

If so, I would definitely donate so $ to you again :-{)

  20. What if any plans are you making to participate
    in a St. Baldrick's event in 2013?

  21. If I may ask, have you decided to participate
in a St. baldrick's event sometime this calendar year?

    If so, where?

    Thanks.
