Well, everyone, I've made it through a full week and I'm very happy with what I've done. I feel really supported and glad that I did what I did, because I know it will make this world a better place, even if it's just a little bit. Thanks so much to all my followers and supporters and to the people who commented! I couldn't have done this without you. One of the reasons that I chose to shave my head NOW and not sooner or later is because of you guys.
You guys, who have helped me to get through the rough and smooth patches of this experience. You guys, who are always with me, every step of the way. You guys, who are my friends and family - whether related by blood or by heart.

Entry #5 - One Week Down
A week from yesterday, the head shaving commenced. So it's been a week with no hair! So far it's going well. Life is going on as usual now! Nothing different, besides the occasional rubbing of the head. I had another couple of interviews by Pete, and I continue telling people why I've done this. The message is getting out!

Entry #4 - Back at School
As a baldee, the weekend was pretty good. Nothing abnormal - although I did have a soccer game for the first time with no hair! You would think it would be less hot because you don't have all that hair in your face and covering your head, but it seemed to me that it insulated my head and was matted down with water and sweat, sealing it off and keeping it even hotter! However, it was very cool if air blew over my head, making the water cold and feeling very good. :) Anyway, I played goalie and I didn't have any problems seeing through my bangs! And when I poured water on my head, I felt it right away! Ah, sweet bliss! :P
So today was Tuesday, and I was back at school! I had just a couple people pet my hair, and otherwise all was the same as usual! It's amazing how quickly people adjust!

Entry #3 - The Weekend
Yesterday was Friday - an extremely warm day. My head has never been so warm and happy! It felt amazingly good!! :) I urge all you balding people to try it - soak up the sun! (Though if you'll be out for a while, PUT ON SUNSCREEN!) Though the wind didn't blow through my hair, the sun beamed down on my lack thereof, and it felt amazing!
Today was a little chillier and I went to a drumline competition, so I wore a fuzzy hat. I also found out that this is Cancer Awareness Week! What a coincidence! :)

Entry #2 - The First Day at School

Finally, a picture is posted! Enjoy!
Today, I went to school! I had a very wide variety of reactions, as expected, today. I had a couple faces that really did look exactly like this: :-O and some that looked like this: :-D. It was all very funny! I went down to the cafeteria before school and got loads of hugs and rubbings of my head.

Entry #1 - The Beginning
Hi everyone! Welcome to Jacqui's Bald Blog. I decided to shave my head for St. Baldrick's Foundation, to raise awareness and money to fight pediatric cancer and to donate my hair to a kid who lost their own because of cancer. Here's my page on the St. Baldrick's website:
http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/participantid/414426
So I've been raising money for a while, and now I finally did it - I shaved my head!
Wow, I really did it. I shaved my head. :) I'm fuzzy! And a kid will get to have my hair. I can compare this feeling to nothing like I've ever felt before - I know that I've helped to make a kid feel better and, with all the money I've raised, I know I'm helping find the cure for pediatric cancer.
Stay tuned for pictures and more posts!
